Boys-Girls-Clubs-of-Porter-County-announces-Fine-Arts-Winners-2017 Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County, as part of its year-round National Fine Arts Program, which includes photography and digital arts, had numerous regional and national winners as part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Fine Arts program recognition.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s Fine Arts, ImageMakers Photography, and Digital Arts program enables youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through skill building and the appreciation of the arts. The program provides children with the opportunity to express themselves creatively, build confidence, learn new skills in the visual arts and showcase artwork of Club members in the community. The program encourages expression in nine fine arts categories including: monochromatic drawing, multicolored drawing, pastel, watercolor, oil/acrylic, print making, mixed media, collage, and a collaborative group project.

Club members can participate in the National Fine Arts Exhibit at the local level. First place winners in each category and four age groups move on to a 13-state Midwest regional competition. First place artwork/creative pieces at the regional level proceeds to the national contest. The top art/creative work in each of four age groups are selected as national winners in June. Each national winner has his or her artwork showcased on the virtual gallery and at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Conference. The National Arts Program is based on the idea that every Club member has the chance to be an artist.
