Club Wonder Hosts Art Fair Open House

OE-Leaf-ArtClub Wonder, a program of Opportunity Enterprises, will host an Art Fair Open House on Saturday, September 29, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am in the Youth Services Department of the Valparaiso Public Library, 103 Jefferson Street, Valparaiso. The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Information about Club Wonder will be available, and the art, created by children with special needs, will remain on display through October 18.

Club Wonder began meeting in September of 2010, and provides support for families raising children with special needs.

We are a parent education and support group collaborating with OE, Porter County Special Olympics, and other local resources to share strategic ideas, support one another, and find solutions that work for our families and community,” shares one of the founding members of Club Wonder, Kristin Erdei. “This program is for any child with special needs and their siblings, too. We focus on inclusion and having fun!

In addition to regular meetings which occur the second Tuesday of every month at Opportunity Enterprises, the group hosts a monthly music program and also a social group which meets the first and third Friday of each month at Liberty Bible Church in Valparaiso. Social group participants work on art projects for the first hour of their meeting, and then enjoy an hour of free play, including occasional visits to the Liberty Zone play area.
