First Friday Bringing the Art and Leading Up to The Taste

Uptown-Arts-DistrictThe Michigan City Mainstreet Association is pleased to present the First Friday Artwalk in the Uptown Arts District on August 3, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm. The Uptown Arts District is comprised of fine art galleries, retail and restaurants located in the area from 11th Street to the lake and Spring Street to Wabash Street in Michigan City, IN.

The August First Friday will warm the locals up for the huge Taste of Michigan City in the Uptown Arts District on Saturday August 4, 2012. The Taste will begin with a family-friendly Bike Cruise, registration at 9am and riding at 10:30am. The registration cost is $30 and goes to improvement funds for the Uptown Arts District.

The Taste of Michigan City will begin at 12pm and have bands throughout the day and over 15 local restaurants. The event also features a beer and wine garden with local brewers Shoreline and Back Road Brewery and local wine by Shady Creek Winery. This event coincides with the Great Lakes Grand Prix and features the Boat Parade through the downtown at 6pm. WIMS Radio will be on board to MC the parade, which features a lot of the fabulous boats that can be seen in the Grand Prix.

The First Friday has become a staple event, so if you can not attend the fun Saturday, be sure to come, enjoy and network with friends.
