The 12th annual Senior Art Exhibit opened February 1, 2012, at the Portage Library with its biggest year yet featuring 60 artists and 150 pieces of art! Sponsored by the Mayor's Advisory Committee on Senior Services, Mayor James Snyder and Chairperson Sue Lynch Council-At-Large, and hosted by the Portage Library, the art exhibit is open to those 55 and older. Now in its 12th year, the Senior Art Exhibit continues to draw a wide variety of art and artists and they were celebrated and recognized at a Reception on February 4th which brought over 100 guests, including 38 of the featured artists.
The Library is thrilled to have the honor of hosting the Senior Art Exhibit each year. Patrons and staff enjoy seeing the pieces that bring such life to the beige walls! Even though it's a day longer than usual, February is a short month and all too soon the art will be gone, so hope you can make it in!
