Discussion on Beyond the Arches: Selected Works from McDonald’s Corporate Art Collection

McDonalds-art-3Join us at Lubeznik Center for the Arts on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7:00 pm (CST) for an insightful talk entitled Visions of America by Joan Chesterton. Chesterton is Professor Emerita, Purdue University. Her extensive knowledge of American Art history will illuminate the works in LCA's current exhibition, Beyond the Arches: Selected Works from McDonald's Corporate Art Collection. These rarely-seen works include pieces by icons of American art such as Norman Rockwell, as well as significant works from regional and national artists.

Chesterton, who holds a Master of Arts degree in Literature and Art History from the University of Illinois, has presented numerous programs at LCA in the past, including Flight to Freedom in 2009, on European artists who fled the Holocaust and enriched American art in the 20th century.

Doors open at 6:30, program begins at 7:00. Admission is $3, free for LCA members. For more information, please call 219.874.4900.
