Porter-Starke Clients Benefit from American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation Grant

rot001Porter-Starke Services, a not-for-profit community mental health center serving Northwest Indiana, received $4,000 from the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation to enhance the addiction treatment services offered at the center.

Porter-Starke annually serves over 15,000 people for mental health and addiction issues and applied for funding from the Foundation to help offset the costs of additional treatment resources that they could share with their clients.

Narcotics Anonymous Step Working Guides and other resources have been purchased through the grant and have been distributed to clients as they join the treatment group.

“Feedback about the guides has been phenomenal,” said Teresa Young, Director of Outpatient Mental Health & Addiction Services. “Many of our clients would not have been able to financially afford ordering them on their own so we’re very thankful for the grant and the opportunity to provide these resources to so many in our community,” said Young.

Porter-Starke Services groups utilizing the additional resources include the Adult and Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Programs. Additionally, the resources have become a permanent part of the resource library for the Porter and Starke County Jail Addiction Treatment Programs.
