Franciscan Health Michigan City: Donation Eases Pain of Child Loss

Mike and Meagan Wizceb (center), of Elburn, Ill., recently donated a Cuddle Cot to the Franciscan Health Michigan City Family Birthing Center. The couple began their charitable efforts after the loss of a son, Wyatt, and began an organization called, Wishes for Wyatt, which raises money to donate Cuddle Cots to hospitals; and for HEALing Embrace, which produces the cots. The device allows grieving families to spend more time with their child as they process the loss.

“This will be a wonderful addition to the bereavement program our employees have worked so hard to make more robust over the last year, and aligns strongly with Franciscan Alliance’s cherished values of Compassionate Concern and Respect for Life,” said Sarah Dumbald, who manages the birth center.
