Crisman Elementary
Crisman second graders read the book Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet. This is the true story of the puppeteer of Macy’s Parade. Students designed their own Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons to represent a character from a book. Students had to solve problems in multiple ways.
PHS AP Economics Class
Students (from left to right) Alexis Serrano, Laura Joseph, and Alexa Burney play the stock market game in Mr. Marvin's AP Economics class. Students are given $10,000 to invest. They then track these investments through November and December on a website called "how the market works".
Myers Elementary
The Myers Elementary Spell Bowl team showed their Portage pride at the Indiana Academic Spell bowl on Thursday, placing third in their area competition, and ranking top ten in the state! In addition Alannah Sweeney, Ashlyn Gentry, and Andre Kocoski got special recognition for perfect scores, and 5th graders Shelby Imes, Hannah Smith, and Eric Mills got near-perfect ribbons.
