NEODo you have a passion for helping others? Would you like professional experience to build your resume to find a better job? NEO Adult Education needs YOU!

NEO Adult Education is gearing up for a ‘Fast-Track to Your Future’ spring registration. NEO’s classes are available to Indiana students, age 16 or older, who are not currently enrolled in high school and who wish to study for Indiana’s High School Equivalency Diploma (GED ®), prepare for college or career, learn English as a second language, or study for the US Citizenship test. NEO is busy providing students with these opportunities, so it’s all hands on deck! NEO (and our students) need you.

Volunteer duties may include:

  • Assisting with individual students in various content areas
  • Acting as a greeter; ensure students sign in/out of registration
  • Assisting with class instruction or supplemental teacher support
  • Completing follow up calls to former students
  • Assisting with daily clean-up of the adult education center
  • Assisting with inventory of department supplies and report totals for purchase orders
  • Helping to maintain enrollment counts for the day

All volunteers will need to attend a brief volunteer training session. However, NEO’s adult education center is open from 8:30 a.m. through 8:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday, allowing for volunteers to create a schedule that best fits their individual availability and program needs. Individual schedules will be discussed prior to start date. Professional attire/business casual is preferred.
