SVT-Hab-LCAbout National Women Build Week
Habitat for Humanity’s National Women Build Week is a weeklong event created by its Women Build program that invites women to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability and independence through housing. The week is meant to spotlight the homeownership challenges faced by women.

The event will be held the week leading up to Mother’s Day in 300 communities. Hosting the event during this week reinforces the message that every woman can make a difference through learning and using construction skills to build stability and self-reliance through shelter. More than 80,000 women from all 50 states have volunteered at the eight previous National Women Build Week events.

2016 National Women Build Week will be held April 30 through May 8, Mother’s Day
This year, more than 17,000 women from across the country are expected to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity construction sites during National Women Build Week and help create a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
