Help St. Mary Medical Center Pack Away Hunger this April

st-mary-pack-a-thon-3St. Mary Medical Center is hosting a Pack Away Hunger event on April 2, 2016! Pack Away Hunger is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to eradicating hunger and improving the lives of children and adults who suffer from hunger and malnutrition.

In the US, 15.8 million children are without access to healthy meals on a regular basis. One out of six children in developing countries is underweight due to malnutrition - that's about 100 million kids. But you can reduce these numbers. All you have to do join us at our packing event at Hobart High School from 8am to 10am.

An Event By the Numbers

Meal Cost = $0.27 per meal
Volunteers = 12 People needed for one assembly line
Time = 1 assembly line creates 3,000-4,000 meals in a 2.5 hour shift

So in 2.5 hours you and 11 other volunteers can create 4,000 meals for those in need. Seems like an easy thing to do that makes a very big impact.
