Jonathon Javors, DO, an orthopedic surgeon, received the annual Franciscan St. Margaret Health-Hammond Catherine McAuley Clinic Gratitude Award during a celebration at the hospital Dec. 4. Since 2008, the award has been presented to Franciscan Alliance physicians who volunteer at the clinic, which, since 1996, has provided medical services for area underprivileged residents. Javors, who has volunteered since 2012 and has been with Franciscan Medical Specialists since 1988, said he was humbled and undeserving of the honor, adding credit was due the clinic staff. He is shown with Jami Kuyper, a registered nurse who works with him and received flowers for encouraging Dr. Javors to lend his services to the clinic. Besides the plaque, Dr. Javors received an assortment of keepsakes.
