Bingo! Portage Tri Kappa Fundraiser Was a Winner

Bingo-Portage-Tri-Kappa-Fundraiser-Was-a-WinnerRave reviews were heard from those attending the Boutique Bingo fundraiser hosted by the Portage Zeta Mu Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority. The sold-out event, held October 4th at the Spa in Porter, IN, was a success in raising funds for Portage Tri Kappa's 2016 philanthropic endeavors.

As promised in the announcement of the event, "Not Your Grandma's Bingo," the Boutique Bingo fundraiser proved to be an afternoon of glamour and merriment, with happy winners awarded fabulous prizes, including Vera Bradley designer bags. Beautiful and bountiful themed raffle baskets, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle were part of the fun as well. Participants also had the opportunity to shop with popular area vendors, as well as to partake of appetizers, desserts, and refreshments. And greatly adding to the festivities, musical entertainment was provided by the Portage Jazz II Combo Band from Portage High School.

In keeping with Tri Kappa's dedication to service in the community, invited to speak at the event were women in leadership positions with the same goal: Indiana State Senator Karen Tallian; Dr. Debra J. Dudek, Assistant Superintendent of Portage Township Schools; and Mary Beth Schultz, Executive Director of The Caring Place. Moreover, with good humor and to everyone's delight, each called out bingo numbers for the game-playing.

Those who helped sponsor the fundraiser were acknowledged at the fundraiser as well. According to Portage Tri Kappa president, Barbara Niemcewicz: "For their support, we'd very much like to thank our generous corporate, local small business, and individual sponsors, as well as all who attended this year's fundraiser. Each sponsor and ticket purchaser has helped the Portage community. With proceeds from this fundraiser, Portage Tri Kappa is eager to continue to fund numerous charity and cultural organizations throughout the Portage community, as well as award scholarships to local graduating high school seniors."
