New Ambulance Unveiled with United Way’s Message of Hope

u nited-way-new-ambulanceOn Thursday, July 30th, United Way of Porter County partnered with Prompt Ambulance Service to unveil a new ambulance at the Porter County Fair. Held in the Grandstand and with sirens blaring, ribbon-cutting festivities kicked off the annual Firefigher Challenge. The location seemed a natural fit, with so many first-responders on site and in the audience. The partners also made a $500 donation to local volunteer firefighter efforts.

“Prompt Ambulance is excited about the opportunity to give recognition, through the use of advertisements on our ambulances, to nonprofit organizations.” Stated Ron Donahue, Director of Business Development for Prompt. “We are hopeful this newest addition to our fleet will help promote the United Way of Porter County and all that they do to help others in our community.”

Several people were in attendance for the celebration, including State Senator Ed Charbonneau; Gary and Shar Miller, owners of Prompt Ambulance; Past United Way Board and Campaign Chairs, Todd Wagenblast, George Carberry, and Lonnie Steele; Current Campaign Chairs, The Stewart and Kathryn McMillan Family of Task Force Tips; and Sharon Kish, President of United Way of Porter County.

“We are thrilled with this new partnership with Prompt Ambulance and are grateful for this wonderful opportunity to connect with our community”, added Kish. “Our missions, of service to the community, are similar and this seems like a perfect collaboration!”
