This annual event celebrates volunteerism throughout Northwest Indiana by bringing together teams from local businesses, municipalities, churches and civic groups to complete projects and make significant impact on the non-profit community. The United Way Day of Caring will be held on Friday, August 22nd, beginning with a kickoff breakfast and dressed in free volunteer tshirts, volunteer teams will head out to the agencies where there have chosen to volunteer. Day of Caring is also a remarkable team builder for employee groups and allows volunteers to see firsthand the great work accomplished by our non-profits in Northwest Indiana.

In addition to local non-profit projects, Lake Area United Way and United Way of Porter County will each be hosting Packapalooza Projects! Lake Area United Way will be hosting the 2nd Annual Packapalooza with a goal to pack 100,000 meals for the hungry. United Way of Porter County will host their first Packalooza packing 500 backpacks to help all students be ready to start school on the same foot.
