United Way Places in Every Category at 2014 GEM Awards

unitedway portercountyUnited Way of Porter County (UWPC) is pleased to announce it received one out of the three coveted GEM Awards given out each year, along with several first and third place wins and an honorable mention in the 2014 GEM Awards.

Golden Excellence in Media (GEM) entries are judged on innovation, accomplishment of purpose, production quality and measurable success. The contest is open to any Indiana United Way/Fund, seeing as United Way Worldwide branding criteria is followed. This year, there were 77 entries from 20 United Ways, which were evenly divided among 3 divisions.

The UWPC “Be the One” campaign video, directed by Group 7even and produced by JBH Productions, received the highest honor for any United Way of their size in the state, and additionally placed first in its category. The video can be found at www.unitedwaypc.org/2013-be-one-campaign. Also placing first was the Reading Buddies poster and video. The Annual Celebration program, “Be the One” CEO poster series and the Young Leaders United electronic newsletter placed third in their divisions, and the 2013/14 “Be the One” campaign brochure received an honorable mention.
