Become a VITA Volunteer.
Are you looking for a way to help your community? Consider becoming a volunteer with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for the 2011 tax season.
The program assists seniors and individuals with low and moderate incomes, persons with disabilities and those for whom English is a second language.
As a volunteer, you'll provide tax perparation service to taxpayers who do not have the ability to prepare their own tax returns. Don't know that much about taxes? Don't worry -- you'll recieve specialized traning from a certified VITA volunteer or from IRS employees. Some of the volunteer opportunities included being a greeter, a reviewer, a tax preparer and more.
