Grant applications focusing on substance use disorder in the area of prevention; treatment and recovery and law enforcement were distributed.

Albert Gay, Prevention Trainer for Indiana Prevention Resource Center opened the annual grant writing workshop with the definition of a coalition. "The Council is a coalition made up of collaborating agencies and diverse community members that work together to create a healthy community," said Gay. The presentation guided the attendees through best practices on completing the application. Although a large number of participants were already members, the training attracted new agencies that will be applying for funds to serve Porter County residents.

Anyone meeting the guidelines to apply is encouraged to seek funding. If anyone is interested in submitting an application, the deadline in August 15th at 12:00 noon. Call 219-462-0946
