Hannah’s Hope to Host Their 2018 Charity Gala, “Dreams”

More than 350 supporters of Hannah’s Hope are anticipated at Woodland Park’s Oakwood Grand Hall in Portage on Saturday night, October 13, 2018 as they share and celebrate some of the many amazing stories of children that the local charity has assisted over the years through their EAP (Equipment Assistance Program). They will also be celebrating and thanking the region for the 2017 grand opening of the Hannah’s Hope Playground at Founder’s Square. The playground, which boasts equipment designed to challenge children with special physical, social, and sensory needs, was a dream many years in the making for the Northwest Indiana charity that is now a reality.

The presenting sponsors of this year’s gala are Payne Financial Solutions of Valparaiso, as well as Don and Judy Spiro.

“Many of the great things that we do would be impossible if it weren’t for the generosity of local businesses and families.” Hannah’s Hope co-founder, Mike Martinez said. “We truly are a charity which started locally, we are funded locally, and helping children right hear in our own backyard.”

Hannah’s Hope, a Northwest Indiana non-profit, provides developmental equipment to kids with special needs and connects families by making life and communities more accessible. In addition to meeting the individual equipment needs of children, Hannah’s Hope also has also hosted family gatherings to help connect families to each other and provide support within their communities. In their work to make communities more accessible, the Hannah’s Hope Playground at Founder’s Square is not only be a place that is engaging and accessible for all children, but also a place where children with special needs can use the specialty play equipment to complete therapy exercises outdoors with their peers.

The “Dreams Charity Gala” is Hannah’s Hope’s night to shine a light on the difference that quality equipment and therapy makes not only for children with special needs, but for their families and communities as well.
