Opportunity Enterprises Hosts a Successful Holiday Extravaganza in 2015

On December 5th, Opportunity Enterprises hosted its 2015 Holiday Extravaganza and Simply Amazing Market Open House. Guests enjoyed an array of family-fun activities, including face painting, crafts and activities, pictures with Santa, and a special Popcorn & Painting session.

As they arrived, guests were greeted by the Simply Amazing Market staff to browse the selection of holiday gift baskets. “Over 250 volunteer hours have been dedicated to the Market this holiday season,” says Julie McKean, OE Project Manager. “We simply would not have such great success without the hard work and dedication of our clients, staff, and volunteers.”

A robust group of vendors were present at the event selling specialty products. Guests mingled throughout the festive atmosphere and enjoyed the diverse array of activities and services available. Kathy Eckert of Canvas Escapes hosted the Popcorn & Painting session, providing participants of all ages the enjoyment of painting a snowman on canvas.

Valparaiso University’s Phi Sigma Kappa and Lambda Chi Alpha were represented on Saturday with a large group of enthusiastic volunteers, who were not only at the event from start to finish, but who dedicated their time with smiles on their faces.

“It was so amazing to share this joyous occasion with our community,” says Ellen DeMartinis, CEO. “Families all over Northwest Indiana joined us in spreading holiday cheer, and sharing our passion with them made for a memorable day.”

The Simply Amazing Market will continue its holiday hours through December 23, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The Market will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1 for the New Year.
