Students were given 2 stacks of different size cups, and a stack of square construction paper to construct the tallest structure in the class. Each student had a planning sheet, and then came together in groups to agree on one structure. Through trial and error they learned how to make their towers stronger and taller. They wrapped it up by discussing why some ideas worked and others did not.
