Portage Township Schools Update, December 1, 2017

Myers Elementary
Fifth grade students at Myers Elementary were rewarded for their hard work on their Accelerated Reader Goals for the first quarter by earning a trip to Dairy Dip, a local ice cream shop down the road from school. Students got to enjoy a sweet treat and an afternoon of fun and relaxation with friends!

Saylor Elementary
Miss Leverich's Kindergarten and Mr. Woolever's 5th grade Reading Buddies, got together to build dog houses. The dog houses tie in with the story "Because of Winn Dixie", which is the book we have chosen for our "One School, One Book" program.

PHS AP US History
Miss Nye's PHS AP US History students spend time analyzing primary source documents about American Imperialism.

PHS MCJROTC
Cadets from Portage Marine Corps JROTC are diligently working on raking yards for the elderly around Portage. The cadets volunteered to do the work after the annual Portage Rake Day was weathered out on 4 November 2017.

Saylor Elementary STEAM
We had a wonderful night learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math! We are thankful for all of the parents and students who were able to attend Saylor's first STEAM night. We really enjoyed it, and hope you did too!
