Saylor Elementary
Saylor's very own Miss Kimauri Sims was teacher for a day in Mrs Stocky's 2nd grade class. Mrs. Stocky was very impressed with how well Kimauri handled the class. Kimauri was one of our top 20 collectors during our Laps for Learning. She earned being "Teacher for Half a Day" and chose to be with Mrs. Stocky. Here are a couple of pics from reading time.

Myers Elementary
On Friday, November 11th, Myers Elementary School put a on program to honor our Veterans. Their music teacher, Mrs. Rebecca Duncan, taught each grade level one patriotic song that they performed at the program. There were songs, speaking parts, hand bells, a presentation of the flag by Portage High School ROTC, and picture of each veteran with their family member. It was a nice way to say "thank you" to our veterans.

PHS Social Studies
Students in Mr. Fortenberry's Geography class did online research using an educational website on Ancient Rome. Each student had to research topics on Rome that they found to be the most interesting. PHS World Language Department
This week we are showcasing some of the projects the German students made. They created "wanted"posters to practice describing people. The students could include either celebrities or people from their personal lives. In the end, the posters turned out really well! Students were creative and used popular characters from tv shows for the postes or made up stories to describe their wanted criminal, such as a unicorn that is wanted for strangling. Overall, the posters look great and we all look forward to hanging them up around our hallway.
