Kyle Elementary
A big thank you goes out to the Portage Fire Department for teaching the Kyle students all about fire safety.
Myers Elementary
Third graders at Myers Elementary School learned about Fire Prevention Safety from Portage Division Chief, Chris Kinder. Students learned the importance of developing an evacuation plan in their homes in case of a fire while having some fun in the process.
Saylor Elementary
Mrs. Roberson's 5th grade class is did a science experiment to see which of their three methods keeps bread the freshest. Their control group is bread that hasn't been touched, then they put bread in wax paper, a sealed plastic bag and a paper bag. They observed the bread for 5 days to see which method works the best. The class concluded that keeping bread in a sealed plastic bag kept it fresher.
