PHS World Language Department
Portage’s very own Angelica Lopez had a life-changing experience over the summer. After a rigorous application and selection process, she was accepted in to the Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages, or IUHPFL. This is a study abroad program in which Angelica spent 7 weeks in Spain living with a host family while taking intensive classes and going on various excursions- all in Spanish! She has gained an all new confidence in the Spanish language, as well as friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

Central Elementary
Mrs. Ofman's Kindergarten class at Central Elementary in Portage, is meeting their new 5th grade friends, Ms. McCarron's class. They are working on a getting to know you activity.

Kyle Elementary
The first week of school all students and staff had an assembly on Kyle Expectations For Excelllence. Mr. Sopko explained the importance of our Matrix and its elements.

Saylor Elementary
Saylor students in Mrs. Sopko's 4th Grade class did the Marshmallow Challenge. Students were given the same materials and instructions and had to work together to build the tallest structure with what they had. It was great to see the end results were different even though they had the same materials.
