On Saturday, March 5th, 12 Myers students participated in the Circle the State with Song festival in Hebron, IN. These students were selected by their music teacher, Mrs. Rebecca Duncan, after an audition to be part of the festival. Circle the State with Song is a festival in which the top singers from surrounding schools in NWI learn 7 difficult songs, and then perform them together. The students from Myers practiced almost every Saturday morning in January and February so that they would be ready for the festival. In total, there were over 100 Portage students in attendance and over 600 students in all. It was a wonderful day. The students from Myers that participated were:

After reading "The Best Part of Me" by Wendy Ewald, 2nd grade students in Mrs. Reeder's class wrote their own stories about the best parts of themselves. Students picked their favorite physical feature and described why it is the best part of them. In addition, the description is accompanied by a cute picture.
