Saylor Elementary: Circle the State with a Song
Congratulations to our Saylor students who participated in Circle the State With Song on March 5th! There were over 500 kids from all around Northwest Indiana singing together at Hebron High School. They worked super hard, and had a very long day, but it was well worth it. So many people showed up to the concert that afternoon, that it was standing room only!! The students did a fantastic job and represented Saylor and the Portage Community very well. We're so proud of our Saylor students!

Central Elementary
Rebecca Ashcroft from Purdue University visited 2nd grade classrooms at Central Elementary School in Portage, Indiana; guiding students through interactive and engaging activities teaching children about nutrition. Purdue's nutrition program for elementary students is called Professor Popcorn and they visited Central Elementary’s 2nd grade classes once a week for six weeks teaching students about a different food group each week. Students even received a snack from that day's food group at the end of each lesson!
