Central Elementary 2nd Grade
After a unit on Animals in Winter Mrs. Winkoff's 2nd grade class at Central Elementary in Portage did an experiment using the Blubber Glove. Jones Elementary
On Tuesday, March 1st, the entire state of Indiana started the I-Step test. Jones Elementary decided to get their students ready with style. Students in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Student Council spent Monday afternoon decorating the entire school. Encouraging messages could be found on the windows, sidewalks and in the hallway as students were inspired to Rock the I-Step while walking the red carpet. Mrs. Doty, the Jones' principal, wanted to do something fun to inspire the upper grade students and to get them in the mind set to do their personal best.

Myers 2nd Grade
All 2nd grade students received a beautiful stuffed animal to read with at the beginning of the year, courtesy of United Way. Each day during our silent reading and buddy reading times, students are allowed to hold their reading buddies and/or read to them. They have really loved having them each day to go to during reading time. Thanks you United Way!!!

Saylor Elementary
Miss Filipidis' Kindergarten class made oobleck today. Oobleck has properties of both liquids and solids. You can slowly dip your hand into it like a liquid, but if you squeeze the oobleck or punch it, it will feel solid. The name oobleck comes from the Dr. Seuss book, “Bartholomew and the Oobleck.”
