Portage High School Students Participate in 2015 Project Lead the Way

Portage high school Project Lead the Way (PLTW) students visited Willowcreek middle school last week and met with 8th grade PLTW "Gateway" classes to present the opportunities and activities the high school PLTW curriculum has to offer. The Willowcreek students made for a great audience and the high school presenters did a fantastic job!

PLTW is the nation's leading STEM education program and engages kids in hands on problems solving challenges. All middle school students take the required Design Modeling and Automation and Robotics courses. At the high school, the PLTW classes are elective, dual credit courses and part of the Technical and Honors diploma requirements. In a age when students need to leave high school college and or career ready, the PLTW pathway for students is both relevant and rigorous, and not to mention, a lot of fun. Portage high school boasts a robust PLTW curriculum offering seven different opportunities.

Introduction to Engineering Design (IED)
Principles of Engineering (POE)
Digital Electronics (DE)
Civil Engineering and Architecture (CEA)
Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM)
Engineering Design and Development (EDD)
and the new Principles of Biomedical Sciences (PBS)
