Jones Elementary Celebrates Academic Success with Tie Dyeing

Jones Elementary recently celebrated a large achievement of students reaching their high goals of achieving enough AR points and comprehension goals this semester and celebrated with a fun and colorful tie-dye party!

"We've had hundreds of exceptional readers from our school make a shirt," says Portage Township YMCA Fund Development Director Jan Zurek. "The students who met or exceeded their AR reading goals were treated to this special DIY project."

Each student was given their own t-shirt for tie-dying along with an ice cream sandwich to enjoy during the festivities.

After the students spent time decorating and crafting their tie-dye shirt, the students were encouraged to wear their new shirt yesterday for the rest of the students and staff to see.

"Jones Elementary teachers and staff are proud of their students' accomplishments and are already planning their next AR celebration," says Jones Elementary Media Clerk Rebecca Belt. "

Great job staff and students who participated with this great event and huge congratulations to each of the students who achieved their academic goals. Keep on working hard Jones Elementary Students!
