Crisman 5th Grade Students Create Carnival

Crisman_5th_Grade_Students_Create_Carniv-1Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls of all ages - come one, come all, to a day of spectacular amusement! The Crisman Elementary Carnival is coming to town!

This carnival is completely run by students. The students have been working so hard to make this carnival a total success. Every day for about an hour the entire 5th grade, all 74 students, meets in the cafeteria to work on the carnival. The students have been broken up into teams, and each team has a different job.

One of the groups is the Marketing Team. This group is in charge of letting the community know about the carnival. All the students in the marketing team have gone out to local businesses and asked the managers to hand out flyers that the students have created.

Another group is The Game Committee. They are in charge of creating and building the games from scratch. Some examples of the games are a dunk tank, pie a teacher in the face, the mouse game, and many more. About 25 games have been created by students for this carnival.

Another is The Food Committee. They come up with the food that's going to be at the carnival and also they are learning about economics to decide how much the food will cost. And the last group is The Prize Committee. They come up with prizes for the carnival and determine their prices.

We have interviewed Mrs. Schulz, one of the Crisman 5th grade teachers, to see what she's most excited about for the carnival. She said, “I am most excited to see student ideas come to life.” The students are excited to see their ideas come to life as well, and we hope that you are too.

The Crisman 5th Grade Carnival will be held on September 26th from 12-6 p.m. at Willowcreek Middle School.
