Purdue Calumet Enters into Nursing Articulation with College of DuPage

purdue-cal-peregrenePurdue University Calumet has entered into an articulation agreement with College of DuPage (Ill.) by which graduates of COD’s Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program will be accepted into Purdue Calumet’s online Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

Through this 2+2 agreement, College of DuPage graduates may transfer up to 86 credit hours into Purdue Calumet’s popular, 120-hour RN to BSN program. The program appeals to many practicing registered nurses who find online baccalaureate study more conducive to their changing work schedules.

Can complete a BSN in 15 months
“We are pleased to enter into this agreement which enables College of DuPage graduates a seamless opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue Calumet,” Interim Dean of Purdue Calumet’s College of Nursing Lisa Hopp said. “As part of our Professional Nursing Pathways Program, those who graduate from the COD associate degree program with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher can articulate into our program and earn a BSN in as few as 15 months.”

Hopp added that Purdue Calumet’s RN to BSN program and its articulation with College of DuPage aligns with the “80 by 20” national goal of 80 percent of registered nurses holding at least a baccalaureate degree by 2020.

Seamless transfer opportunity
“This agreement provides our students with a seamless transfer experience and the opportunity to earn a degree from a prestigious university that prepares them for highly sought-after nursing positions at the BSN level,” College of DuPage Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs Emmanuel Awuah said.

With an enrollment of more than 29,000 students, College of DuPage is the second largest provider of undergraduate education in Illinois. Sixty-three students graduated from its Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program during the 2014-15 academic year.
