PNC Offers Presentation and Public Speaking Skills Course

purdue-north-centralThe Purdue University North Central Office of Graduate and Extended Learning and the Department of Communication will offer a non-credit program open to anyone who would like to improve their presentation and public speaking skills.

“Inform, Persuade and Entertain: Presentation and Public Speaking Skills” will meet on Tuesdays from May 12 through June 16 from to 5 to 7 p.m. each night. Registration is $149 and includes all materials. Special discounted rates are available for PNC and Purdue University Calumet students, alumni and employees. The deadline to register is May 5 by 4 p.m. Seating is limited.

This course, taught by Dr. Daniel Wilbur, associate professor of Communication, introduces participants to the principles and practice of presenting information effectively in order to achieve desired outcomes. Participants will learn how to create clear, concise and engaging presentations, as well as the importance of analyzing and adapting presentations for delivery to each unique audience. They will improve their own skills by studying public speaking and presentation making as both a speaker and an observer.

There are no prerequisites for this continuing education program.
