IU Northwest Production Addresses Race in American Theater

rot4Indiana University Northwest’s African American Studies, Department of Minority Studies and the Black Student Union invite the community to “The Wilson Brustein Debate,” a debate addressing the racial politics of the American theater.

The free production, a collaboration between IU Northwest and MasMedia7 is set for 6 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 18 and 19 at Theatre Northwest on Grant, located at 3660 Grant St. in Gary.

It is billed as a debate, but at times it resembles a good old fashioned argument. The playwright, August Wilson, and the drama critic Robert Brustein, deliver an evening of passion, principle and drama.

Admission is free but tickets are required and can be obtained from the Office of Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs in Raintree Hall, Room 229.
