PHSCrestThis week in PE we would like to highlight the work put in by our PE 9 and PE 10 students as they have just completed the Fitness Gram. The fitness gram is a multi-stage aerobic capacity test that measures the students in a shuttle run (pacer test) as well as a pushup and sit-up test. The fitness gram gives the teachers in our department a fitness baseline to work off of and determine the types of activity that will be done throughout the semester. Students are encouraged to set goals for improvement based on their initial test results, and will be tested again at the end of the 3rd quarter as well as the end of the semester. Weekly cardiovascular training as well as pushup and sit-up routines are used to promote improvement on the next round of fitness gram tests.
