The Portage High School JROTC has a new Senior Military Instructor. Lieutenant Colonel Thomas D. Gualandi, USMC (Ret.) assumed the duties of Senior Military Instructor on 1 August 2014. LtCol Gualandi retired from the Marine Corps on 1 May 2014 after nearly 24 of service in both the Enlisted and Officer ranks. Lt. Col Gualandi was a Military Intelligence Officer and served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a welcome addition to the PHS JROTC Program.
Ten PHS JROTC Cadets supported the Portage Fire Department 5K and Half Marathon Run on the 31st of August - the Cadets assisted in organizing the runners and crowd control.
