IU Northwest Opens Spring Enrollment for Adult Education Classes

Indiana University Northwest offers courses for lifestyle enrichment and career enhancement through its Adult Education program. Courses are taught on campus, and at multiple locations in Northwest Indiana.

IU Northwest students and the community are encouraged to register for courses that will prepare them for a job promotion or may even spark an interest in completing a degree program.

Upcoming courses offered at IU Northwest include:

Career Development

  • Certified Nursing Assistant: Three-week course offered at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hobart on a rolling basis beginning February 3; $810. For additional dates visit http://www.iun.edu/adult-education/index.htm.
  • Dental Office Administration: Tuesdays, March 18 – May 13, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., $245 (includes book). If registering after March 7, fee will be $255.
  • Health Insurance Billing: Mondays, March 24, 31; April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19; Wednesdays, April 30, May 7, 14; 6 to 8:30 p.m., $425. If registering after March 14, fee will be $450.
  • Medical Terminology: Wednesdays, March 5 - April 23, 6 to 8:30 p.m., $250 (includes book). If registering after February 20, fee will be $260.
  • Pharmacy Technician Training: Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 4 - May 22, 7 to 9:30 p.m., $995 (includes book and workbook). If registering after February 20, fee will be $1,050.

  • WORD—Microsoft Office 2013: Saturday, March 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $155 (includes book). If registering after February 21, fee will be $165. The course is offered again from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 5.
  • EXCEL—Microsoft Office 2013: Saturday, March 8, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $155 (includes book) / ($130 if you have book from WORD class). If registering after February 27, fee will be $165 ($140 if you have book from WORD class). The course is offered again from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 12.
  • Intermediate EXCEL – Microsoft Office 2013: Saturday, March 15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $155 (includes book) / ($130 if you have WORD or EXCEL book). If registering after March 7, fee will be $165 ($140 if you have WORD or EXCEL book). The course is offered again from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 19.
  • Basic Computers: Fridays, March 7 to May 2; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; $125. If registering after February 20, fee will be $130.

 

Personal Development

  • Stepping Line Dancing: Saturdays, March 22 – May 10; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; $115. If registering after March 14, fee will be $125.

Online Instruction

Those interested in taking classes online have the option to choose courses in a variety of disciplines, such as Design and Composition; Law and Legal; and Writing and Publishing.
