Jackie Butzler Named Hospital’s January Ambassador of 2016

Jackie-ButzlerJackie Butzler, an eight-year health unit coordinator, is Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City’s January Ambassador of the Month.

The award has been presented by the hospital’s Social and Recognition Committee since 1988 and recognizes employees who exhibit the mission and values of Franciscan Alliance, which include compassion for those in need, respect for life and the dignity of mankind, wellness and prevention of illness, restoration to health and acceptance of death as the final step toward wholeness. Recipients also have demonstrated courtesy, the proper attitude and enthusiasm for their work.

Butzler, of Michigan City, was nominated for the award by coworkers, who said she “goes above and beyond in caring for her patients,” and is “hardworking, kind and willing to help anyone in need.”

Butzler said she was surprised to receive the recognition, adding, “I never dreamed I would be given such an honor. The employees I work with make the atmosphere very pleasant and my manager is wonderful and easy to talk to.”

She and her husband, Robert, have five children.

When she’s not working, Butzler enjoys reading, puzzles, photography and her four dogs.

In recognition of the honor, Butzler, as are all Ambassador recipients, was honored with a special billboard display for the month, a privileged parking spot, an Ambassador badge holder, a photo on the Ambassador of the Month wall that displays the previous 12 months’ winners, and $150 cash.
