Dawn of Duneland Speed Networking Benefits Area Businesses, Organizations

duneland-chamberMore than 20 attendees from area businesses and organizations participated in the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce Dawn of Duneland event on Tuesday, Aug. 16 to network with their peers.

Last Tuesday’s regularly scheduled event included a first-time speed networking activity, where attendees discussed their business with a partner in three-minute intervals before quickly switching to converse with the next attendee. Event organizers will include speed networking each quarter.

Bob Capehart, ArcelorMittal engineer and Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors member, said the event took off with success immediately. “The fast pace of the speed networking really helped people start talking right off the bat,” he said. “People were very comfortable communicating with their fellow Chamber members, and seemed to really enjoy the benefits of the activity.”

Dawn of Duneland is held the third Tuesday of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Third Coast Spice Café, 761 Indian Boundary Rd. in Chesterton. The monthly breakfast networking also provides businesses a chance to advertise their organization and/or upcoming events. Attendees may purchase their own breakfast and/or refreshments. Dawn of Duneland is free for all Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce members.

All business members are welcome to attend the next Dawn of Duneland on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
