Members “Dine N Dash” at Duneland Chamber of Commerce’s Progressive Dinner

The Duneland Chamber’s Progressive Dinner has received an Amazing Race makeover. On April 19th, attendees arrived for the first ever Duneland Dash and Dine event.

“We wanted to do something fun, a little bit active, and like nothing we’ve ever done before,” said Beth Luncsford, Marketing Director for the Duneland Chamber of Commerce.

Contestants met at The Craft House in Chesterton for appetizers and drinks. At registration, they were placed into teams and given a bandanna to showcase team spirit. There was casual conversation, networking, and even a little bit of playful trash talking between teams.

“I’m excited about the unknown! We have no idea what the night will hold, but we know the chamber always puts on a good time,” said John Marshall, Chamber Board Member and member of the Yellow Team.

As the race began, teams hopped into party buses provided by Epic Limo, Inc.

“We love to be involved with local businesses,” said John Bauer, Epic Limo driver, “All our vehicles are state of art, and we want to share that with the community.”

The party buses were loaded up with snacks and drinks, offering the teams a ride in style to their first location.

Lake View Beach in Beverly Shores held the trivia portion of the race. Teams had five minutes to answer as many questions as possible. Once time was up, they loaded back onto the bus and went to location number two, Porter County Park & Recreation/ Brinka Cross Garden. There, teams had 5 more minutes to solve an over sized puzzle. The final leg took groups to Duneland Family YMCA where they shot free throws, again in a five minute time limit.

Once all three legs were complete teams were driven back to Craft House for dinner and to enjoy the music of Gerry Hundt.

“This was a great opportunity for our members to network in a fun, casual setting, and we got to highlight some of our amazing business members", Luncsford said.
