NorthShore Health Centers Plans to Build New Facility in Portage

northshore-fireworkNorthShore Health Centers is building a new facility in Portage. This multi-million-dollar project will bring in more jobs to Porter County and give NorthShore more space to work. An estimated 150 jobs will be brought to Porter County with this new project.

“We will be consolidating two of our NorthShore locations as well as our admin building into this new location,” Todd Elliott, Business Development Director at NorthShore Health Centers said. “We’ll take all of the components that are in those facilities and have them here.”

The new facility will be home to:

Family Practice Urgent Care OB/GYN Pediatrics Prenatal Care Dental Services 3D/4D Ultrasound Behavioral Health Laboratory Services Radiology Optometry

Construction has not yet started on the facility, but it will be located on Willowcreek Road right across the street from Portage Hospital. Plans for the layout are still in the works. It might be one large facility, or multiple smaller facilities. NorthShore has 10 acres to use so there is plenty of room.

“Jan [Wilson] is very good about utilizing all of the space that we have now, and with this new location we will have even more space to offer services,” Elliott said. “All of our locations are clean and organized and this one will follow suit.”

NorthShore will still have a location in Portage High School. The organization sees this new development as a great opportunity to grow and benefit the community where it started.

“We aren’t leaving the school,” Elliott stated. “We started in Porter County and we plan to make a big investment here in Portage. The community has been very good to us and we aren’t going anywhere.”
