Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street-Next on Stage

Sweeney Todd is coming to Chesterton. Performances start on Saturday, March 15 and continue through March 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 and April 3-6. Sunday performances are at 3:00 pm, all others start at 8:00 pm. Sweeney Todd is set in 19th century England. The musical tells the story of Benjamin Barker, aka Sweeney Todd, who returns to London after 15 years' exile on trumped-up charges. When he finds out the circumstances surrounding his wife's death, he vows revenge on the judge, and later, the whole world. He teams up with a pie maker, Mrs. Lovett, and opens a barbershop in which he kills the customers and has them disposed of in a very tasteful manner.

Mara Wible will be offering a series of cuff bracelet classes at the Chesterton Art Center the last (2) weeks of March. The Pointed Cuff Bracelet class will be held on Tuesday, March 18 and the Rounded Cuff Bracelet class on Tuesday, March 25. Both classes are offered at 5:15 pm and at 7:00 pm. The next shelf ice exploration will be Saturday, March 22 at 2:00 pm. These beach meet ups offer the chance to learn how shelf ice is formed, as well as a safe and awesome look at them from atop the historic beach pavilion. Each exploration meets outside the beach pavilion. Can't make it for the shelf ice exploration? Come to our now 5 year annual tradition and learn about how fire is used in the park, during this very interactive and up-close look at prescribed fire. Fire on the Prairie is scheduled for Saturday, March 29 at 2:00 pm. Kids under 12, must have a parent or responsible adult with them.
