Chamber Talk: It Happens Every Spring

With February come thoughts that maybe winter will be over in a month. At the Chamber, February brings thoughts of the upcoming busiest time of the year.

Mayor Velazquez addressed the historically largest luncheon crowd of the year on February 17th. From February to April, there will be continued planning of our 8th Annual Portage Community and Business Night on April 21st, and our 27th Annual Chamber Golf Outing Scheduled for June 13th, April 21st will also featured our 4th Annual Administrative Assistants Luncheon.

Our Music in the Park Committee will start to meet shortly to put together our 11-week Music in the Park series, which will start in mid-June.

Our March Luncheon will feature Jim Jorgensen as he brings information and insights to our chamber members on the topic of business law as it relates to employers and employees. Our May Luncheon will again be hosted by the Porter County Community Foundation with a date and location still to be set.

The Success of theses events in the past has led to successful years for our chamber. The success of these events in 2011 and beyond will continue to be instrumental to our success. The two way to support any event are: attendance or sponsorship opportunities which market your business.

I would ask all of our members to consider some sort of support to one or more of our events to help make 2011 our best year ever.
