Portage High School PLTW Engineering and Technology Students Visit Purdue University

PHS-at-Purdue-Collage-04-22-15A group of Portage High School PLTW Engineering and Technology students made the trek to Purdue University on a recruitment trip to the College of Technology, Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation (TLI).

Students had the opportunity to visit TLI classrooms and labs, meet with departmental Professors, an academic adviser, current college students, the school's recruitment coordinator and tour the campus. PHS teacher and recent Purdue University graduate in Engineering/Technology Teacher Education, James Kirk, organized the trip.

With Engineering and Technology educators, including PLTW (Project Lead the Way) and STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) teachers, being in high demand nationally, the visit was designed to open up career pathways and opportunities for potential, future educators.
