2014 Portage High School Homeless Bag Project Comes to a Successful Close

2014-Homeless-Bag-ProjectThe Homeless Bag Project in Mrs. Tokash’s classes at Portage High School was a smashing success! Thanks to many wonderful donations, Mrs. Tokash's classes were able to distribute 25 bags to the homeless in Chicago and here, in Portage, which is three times the amount we were able to give in previous years. The bags were filled with blankets, cold weather wear, socks, toiletries and supplies for the winter. In addition, we distributed the remainder of the donations to The Caring Place, a women's shelter which provides housing and services for women and children fleeing from domestic violence.
